About

For as long as I can remember I have loved to bake. Whether it’s chocolate chip cookies or a loaf of homemade bread there is nothing like the smell of some delicious homemade treat in the oven. And there is something so satisfying about being able to offer up food that you have made to friends and family, it truly is an act of love. Not to mention the nutritional benefits of preparing your own goodies- like no preservatives!

One of my earliest memories is in my Granny’s kitchen, the two of us making cornbread. I was sitting in my old white wooden highchair with the flower decal on the back, and she set a bowl in front of me on the tray. I got to crack the eggs, pour in the milk, and then she handed me a wooden spoon and said, “Stir”.

Me in my Granny's kitchen

I have started this blog as a way to share both the vast collection of recipes I have inherited from my Granny and the countless others that I have found over the years and made time and again. So though many of the recipes have been handed down in my family, you will also see a lot of links to recipes I have found from other sources.

I hope this site, and this blog, inspire you to share a little lovin’ from your own oven!
